Percepções das profissionais de saúde e de leitores de imprensa sobre a representação midiática do coletivo

Resumo

O estudo analisa como trabalhadoras da saúde e leitores de imprensa na Espanha e na China percebem a representação midiática do coletivo. Adotou-se um delineamento qualitativo baseado em entrevistas em profundidade com profissionais de saúde e leitores de imprensa na China e na Espanha (n = 48). Entre os resultados, destaca-se que a cobertura jornalística sobre as trabalhadoras da saúde é percebida como uma combinação do reconhecimento do trabalho realizado com a crítica a problemas estruturais do sistema de saúde. Além disso, é considerada insuficiente em termos de profundidade e continuidade, e condicionada por interesses políticos e econômicos. Por fim, identificam-se estereótipos associados a atributos físicos e emocionais, com menor atenção às competências profissionais das trabalhadoras da saúde em ambos os contextos midiáticos analisados. Por isso, a visibilidade informativa das trabalhadoras da saúde não implica um avanço rumo a uma representação mais equitativa.
