Abstract

The aim of this research was to build a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate Parental Alienation (PA) in Chilean kids, between 9 and 15 years. This project started by the need of an instrument to collect evidence of child/parent bond obstruction, a source of severe intra-family child abuse observed in conflictive divorce situations. The items were constructed based on theoretical conceptualization of PA and submitted to expert’s judges who agreed to review and enriched them, to be later submitted to statistical analysis and successive adjustments. The final outcome consists of 29 items, 8 components and two dimensions instrument (Dimension I: Alpha value of .777, Dimension II: Alpha value of .884). This scale was applied to a sample of 1.181 children from 9 to 15 years-old with separated parents, of the south-central regions of Chile. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was performed on the theoretical structure previously proposed, observing acceptable adjustment values.

Author of several books and chapters of Books on Family and Fatherhood both in Chile and Mexico. Author of multiple investigations in Parenthood and Family, author of multiple publications in indexed journals from various Latin American countries. Director of the Master's Degree in Family from the Universidad del Bío Bío in Chillán and Concepción, Chile and the UPAGU University, Cajamarca, Peru. Director and Teacher of the School of Psychology of the University of Bío Bío. ALFEPSI member and coordinator of the ULAPSI Family Group. For 7 years, ALFEPSI Secretary for Latin America. Member of the College of Psychologists of Chile.

Ricardo Rey Clericus, Bio Bio University

Doctor Ricardo Rey Clericus, miembro del Colegio de Psicólogos de Chile, de la Sociedad Chilena de Psicología Clínica y miembro fundador de la Sociedad Chilena de Medicina Conductual y Psicología de la salud. Desempeño profesional en el área de salud pública, durante más de diez años, en el Servicio de Salud Concepción. Docente para la carrera de Psicología, en diferentes Universidades del sur de Chile. Actualmente, en la Universidad del Bío Bío, desde el año 2017. Investigación y publicaciones, sobre temas relacionados con la psicología de la salud, en los últimos veinte años. Con investigaciones relacionadas a la representación cognitiva de enfermedades crónicas como hipertensión, diabetes, insuficiencia renal y su relación a la adherencia a los tratamientos. Asimismo, ha desarrollado estudios sobre las representaciones sociales de los funcionarios y profesionales de atención primaria de salud, en relación al modelo de salud familiar

Luciano Ponce, National University of Cordoba

Doctor Luciano Federico Ponce. Bachelor of Psychology. Doctor in Psychology. He was a postgraduate and postdoctoral fellow at CONICET (National Council of Scientific and Technological Research of Argentina). He is Undersecretary of Community Services of the Faculty of Psychology, National University of Córdoba. Previously, he served as Graduate Secretary and Science and Technique Secretary of that same university. He has been a university professor for more than 15 years at the Faculty of Psychology, National University of Córdoba, at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He currently works as a clinical psychologist oriented to treatment with families. He has directed undergraduate and graduate work related to the subject.
