Trust is a key issue for contemporary organizations which are inserted in contexts of deep uncertainty. From an institutional communications perspective it is even more important for the consequences on its image and credibility, both internal and external. One of the challenges of communication lies in the difficulty of organizations to define who are their counterparts or stakeholders. From a network perspective, the author of this article states that it is stakeholders and its network of relations-hips which ends up defining the boundaries of an organization. Thus trust emerges as a key element to analyze the ties of these networks and their organizational reality.
Key words: trust, organizations, relationship networks.
