Abstract: On the basis of the American Convention on human rights and with the special consideration by the interpretations made by the Inter-American Court, the author seeks to determine what are the main legal guidelines to take into account when considering any limitations on the freedom of communication. The work is mainly oriented towards ra dio and televisio n communications.
