Abstract

The growth of agriculture and massive exploitation of farmland is taking place nowadays in Uruguay, so rural communities are exposed to agricultural pesticides, which can have harmful effects on human health. This work is based on the elaboration of a Nursing Management Project to be enforced in rural health centers’, under the Rural Health National Plan perspective, “Environmental and human health impact diagnose by using agrichemicals in Uruguay”; regarding research being done revising 112 health records in the area’s health centre. These findings were the results of studying the population of Pueblo Colón in Lavalleja, Uruguay. The care management in this project is based on nursing care plans so as to promote and protect rural workers and population health, avoiding this way, both contamination and intoxication due to agricultural pesticides. The aim is empowering Pueblo Colón inhabitants regarding exposure and or usage of agrochemicals.
