Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The manuscript is original and unpublished (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the editor). It will not apply simultaneously to other publications.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- Tables and figures are presented in original format (.xls, .doc or .docx or other general-use software), inserted in the corresponding place in the text. Those images that can only be presented in image format must be in high resolution.
- The authors declare (and attach proof) that the work has had the approval of the Ethics Committee of the corresponding institution, if it requires it during the research with human beings.
- The authors declare having used informed consent for research and/or publication of images, whenever necessary.
- The data of the investigation will be available to the referees, if they require it.
- In case of original research, the article includes the section "Data availability" in which the authors report whether and where the data set used is available. See indications in the Author Guidelines.
- The authors have read, completed and sent the Authorship Responsibility Statement together with the manuscript.
- For the refereed sections, the authors have prepared an anonymous version of the work, following the instructions in the Author Guidelines.
Editorial
This section includes comments and reflections on a novel topic related to care or health sciences in general. Editorials are usually written by order of the journal’s editorial team, although the journal is open to proposals on topics and authors who can develop them.
Original articles
Research papers carried out with qualitative, quantitative or both methodologies, systematic reviews and integrative reviews that deal with any aspect related to care and other health issues are published in this section. The manuscript must not exceed 7,500 words (excluding bibliography and figures or tables). Up to 30 bibliographic references and up to six tables or figures are allowed. In the case of qualitative works and others, whose type and content of the study requires it, the number of words may be increased up to 8,000, and the number of references up to 45. Up to six authors are allowed in this type of article. Peer-reviewed section in a double-blind system.
Brief originals
In this section, case reports and/or case series are published, with an extension of 3,000 words (excluding tables, figures and references). It should be structured in: title, abstract, keywords, introduction, case description, discussion, conclusion and recommendations, and bibliographical references. Peer-reviewed section in a double-blind system.
Copyright Notice
If the manuscript is accepted, the authors agree to transfer the copyright to the journal according to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), open access system, with the authors retaining responsibility for the content and opinions expressed, which do not reflect the views or scientific policy of the journal.
The authors hereby declare that their work does not infringe on the rights of third parties and that they are the sole holders of the property rights being transferred, allowing them to dispose of these rights without any limitations or encumbrances. They also declare that, in creating the work subject to this transfer, they have not violated any third-party intellectual property rights. Consequently, the authors are obliged to guarantee the authorship and originality of the work’s content to the journal and ensure the peaceful exercise of the transferred rights. The authors will be responsible for any claims made by third parties regarding intellectual property rights over the work, thus exempting the journal from any liability. They will also be liable for any damages that may be caused to the journal due to such claims.
The article’s content will not be subject to any other rights by any other publication, nor has it been previously published. If tables or figures from other publications are reproduced, written permission from the authors or copyright holders will be provided as appropriate. In all cases, the Vancouver guidelines for presenting tables and figures will be followed.
The authors may adopt other non-exclusive license agreements for the distribution of the version of the published work (e.g.: deposit it in an institutional telematic archive or publish it in a monographic volume), provided that the initial publication in this journal is indicated.
The authors are the only responsible for the contents and opinions expressed in it, which do not compromise the scientific opinion and policy of the journal.
If tables or figures taken from other publications are reproduced, the written authorization of their authors or publication rights owners will be provided, as appropriate.
