Eliminación de caries asistida por fresas de polímero. Evaluación con fluorescencia laser y colorantes detectores. Reporte clínico preliminar.

Resumen

RESUMEN.Recientemente se ha propuesto una nueva clase de fresas de polímero para la remoción asistida de la lesión de caries dentinaria. Serían una
alternativa a los métodos convencionales y permitirían una remoción  auto - limitante y menos invasiva de los tejidos, removiendo solo la “zona infectada” de la lesión (zona externa, reblandecida, infectada, no remineralizable), conservando y ahorrando tejidos. De este modo se conservaría la “zona afectada”, (capa interna, con una degradación limitada del colágeno, ligeramente infectada y remineralizable). En este informe se revisan intentos previos realizados con fresas de polímero, las llamadas SmartPrep y SmartBurs (SS White, USA) y se realiza una prueba clínica de las nuevas fresas (PolyBur, Komet Brasseler, Germany), como la primera parte de un estudio comparativo de la eliminación asistida con fresas de polímero evaluadas por fluorescencia laser y detectores de caries.
